How did I spend FATHERS’ DAY this year? Well the same as always.. with my wife and two kids!
I was looking at old pictures and blog posts the other day and have chanced on seeing my post about Fathers’ Day two years ago with the title I LOVE BEING A DAD. I noticed the picture that I used in the post where I bent over for the shot so that my Kids and I would fit in the picture. Here’s that photo:
My eldest is almost as tall as I am right now – the kids grew so very fast. I am not too thrilled about that happening because If I have a choice I would always want them to stay as my little playful munchkins but I am happy still, because I know that both of them are growing to be such wonderful and unique individuals.
Anyway, the day started early for all of us last Sunday. Our itinerary was to have lunch at Fersal Hotel Manila and then go to Robinsons Place Manila for the Metro Rides 4 Car Show and then bring the kids to the amusement center.
Here we are, still at home and getting ready:
We took a cab from Paco to FERSAL Hotel Manila – I have been to their branch in Malakas St., Q.C. before for the launching of the 5th PIFBEX and HORECA. I met Ms. Edith Garcia there, she’s the one who gave us a guided tour around the Hotel. Although we’ve never been to Fersal Hotel Manila, we always see the hotel whenever we visit Tam’s parents who live just a few blocks from the hotel.
So this is actually the first time we’re going inside this Hotel. We’re here only for lunch and it’s on-the-house. Yup, Fersal Hotel is treating us for a free Fathers’ Day Lauriat lunch.
They’ve been very quiet and tamed ever since we got them those Nintendo DS. Those were gifts for getting good grades last year. They’re both vying for first honors this year because the incentive is a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland. (hahaha)
And now here’s our lunch:
Food was awesome! These Lauriats are available at Fersal Hotel’s Inn Cafe for only 120 pesos served with Pancit Canton, Rice, Crackers and Iced Tea. I hope next time Fersal would treat me to free accommodation at their awesome hotels so I can check out the rooms. - wishful thinking (hehe)
I love this place, it’s small but the ambiance is cool and the people are very accommodating. According to the staff here, the usual people who come to Fersal Manila are the ‘Balik-Bayans’, those coming from the province and parents or family members of students who are studying near the area like UST. Here we are with the awesome staff of Fersal Hotel Manila:
After our satisfying lunch at Fersal Manila we then took a Jeepney going to Faura and walked our way to Robinsons Place Manila to bring the kids to the amusement center and check out Metro Rides 4. We first went to Tom’s World so that the kids could play for a while – they love those toy cranes and ticket dispensing ‘try your luck’ machines.
After Tom’s World, we went to see Metro Rides 4. There are a lot of people at the Midtown Atrium where the car show is being held. I saw fellow bloggers – John and Mac covering the event. Here are the kids checking out the cool exhibit:
Also at the Midtown Atrium, there’s this display featuring the famous sites from the three main regions of the Philippines. I took a photo of Tam and the kids inside the display.
So that’s it! We went home after that and bought a dozen donuts for take-out.
Nothing special – nothing extravagant. But it was my kind of Fathers’ Day Celebration because I was with the three people who I love the most!
How ’bout you? How did you spend Fathers’ Day last Sunday? :)
